For the 8th time, EUPD Research analyzes energy suppliers in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) as part of the Energy Transition Award.
As part of The smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry, the best energy suppliers were awarded yesterday. At the exhibition in Munich, the best energy suppliers received the Energy Transition Award 2024 for their comprehensive range of products and services relating to the new energy world. In 2024, the Energy Transition Award was extended to additional target markets for the first time: Further European energy suppliers from France, Italy and Denmark have been invited to the award ceremony.
Bonn/Munich, 21. June 2024. The transformation of the energy world, the energy transition, is crucial for the future, as everyday life is no longer imaginable without electricity, heat, and mobility. Energy suppliers play a key role in the energy transition. For example, they act as intermediaries between manufacturers of renewable technologies and energy consumers. The Energy Transition Award makes clear that every company in the energy industry can and needs to contribute to the energy transition. The energy transition in the four segments of electricity, heating, mobility, and energy efficiency is as complex as the activities of the energy suppliers in the DACH region are diverse. In the electricity sector, a growing number of energy suppliers are offering classic products such as green electricity tariffs, photovoltaic systems, and storage systems. With the continued strong growth of the electric mobility market, energy suppliers are becoming increasingly involved in this segment offering, for example, electricity tariffs for charging at home or at public charging stations as well as charging stations for private use or as part of the public infrastructure. In the heating sector, energy suppliers are increasingly offering renewable heating systems such as heat pumps alongside conventional heating systems. In addition, energy suppliers are expanding services relating to heat generation and are helping customers avoid heat loss. A wide range of consulting services in the field of energy efficiency completes the portfolios of numerous energy suppliers.
For the 8th time, the most innovative energy suppliers in the DACH region were awarded the Energy Transition Award in the categories of electricity, heat, mobility, energy efficiency and energy transition (overall) as part of The smarter E Europe, Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry, on June 20, 2024. The initiators of the Energy Transition Award The smarter E Europe and EUPD Research are pleased to present the winners of the Energy Transition Award for energy suppliers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in 2024:
In 2024, the Energy Transition Award was extended to additional target markets for the first time: Further European energy suppliers from France, Italy and Denmark have been invited to the award ceremony.
The focus is on energy supplies that specialize in renewable energy and thus stand out from other utilities as the driving forces behind the energy transition. Based on their offerings such as green electricity and green gas, PV systems and charging stations, as well as their increased commitment to the energy transition, the driving forces from the three countries have been invited to the award ceremony as role models and motivators for other energy suppliers. Julien Tchernia (CEO and Co-founder, Ekwateur), Sara Capuzzo (president of the cooperative, enostra coop) and Anders Millgaard (CEO, Modstrøm Danmark A/S) exchanged experiences in a panel discussion on the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition in Europe.
“Our aim with the Energy Transition Award is to highlight and reward the commitment of energy suppliers in their efforts to achieve more climate protection. I am delighted that we were once again able to honor a large number of committed energy suppliers in the DACH region. In addition, this year we were able to invite other European stakeholders for the first time,” comments Markus A.W. Hoehner, founder and Managing Director of EUPD Research, “I congratulate all of this year’s award winners and would like to thank our long-standing co-initiator The smarter E Europe.”
